The Miss Universe pageant is a yearly event that occurred this year in Sao Paulo, Brazil last Sunday night. 25-year-old Leila Lopes, or Miss Angola, was named Miss Universe at this years pageant. Angola has never had a winner in the contest and Lopes may have her answer to the final question to thank for her win.
The question: What physical trait would you change if you could?
Her answer:”Thank G-d I’m very satisfied with the way G-d created me, and I wouldn’t change a thing,” she said. “I consider myself a woman endown with inner beauty. I have acquired many wonderful principles from my family, and I intend to follow these for the rest of my life.”
You’ll notice that even when she walks to answer the question at 5:00 (video below) that the crowd praises her unlike any other pageant contestant, except for maybe Brazil due to the fact that it was in Sao Paolo. Ukraine’s 23-year-old Olesia Stefanko was the first runner-up and Brazil’s Prscilla Machado was second. After them came Miss Philippines and Miss China.
